Bartram Campus, The Pratt Library: Library History

portrait by Courtenay Hunt

The Bolles Middle School Library is named the Pratt Library after the late Ms. Olga L. Pratt.  Ms. Pratt was the co-founder and Director of the Bartram School for Girls from its inception until her death in 1970.  In 1991, The Bartram School for girls became a coeducational middle school when it merged with The Bolles School.  To honor Ms. Pratt, we continue to display her portrait in our library.

Fun Fact: In the book,
From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler, by E.L. Konigsburg, the personality for Mrs. Frankweiler is based on our very own Olga Pratt.
