Fall 2023! Graphic Novel Lunch Club
A group of 5th graders will join together on A days at lunch in the library. Students will work solo or in a group to write a graphic novel! We will also spend time learning about graphic novels. Sign ups will happen during library class and are open to all.
Spring 2024! Book Arts Lunch Club
A group of 5th Graders will join together on A days at lunch in the Library to learn Book Arts. Students will work solo on selecting papers, threads and stitches to bind a few small paper books for personal use. We will also spend time learning about advanced book arts via video clips and examples from Mrs. Karvounis's personal bookbinding work.
The Bolles Library Media Ambassadors believe that every student deserves equitable access to information and enrichment that inspires innovation and imagination. Our mission is to nurture the Bolles PV Library Media Program as well as the Library Media Programs of our area public schools and the literacy of their students. At Bolles, we promote the Library as the hub of learning, inspiration and discovery. Through community outreach, we promote School Libraries and Literacy Initiatives throughout Jacksonville. The Library Media Ambassadors believe in the saying "All Things Possible @ Your Library."
At the start of school, Fourth and Fifth Grade students will be invited to apply to become an LMA.
LMAs are leaders on campus and embody The Bolles Way. Being an LMA involves the following:
The application and signatures are required. Mrs. Karvounis and the Fourth and Fifth Grade teachers will select 2-3 students from each class.
INTERESTED STUDENTS:
1) Fill out attached application.
2) Deliver your application to Mrs. Karvounis or Mrs. Mathias (mailbox)
4) Applications are due no later than Friday August 25 3:30pm.
**NOTE: Students may not apply for LMA and also run for Student Council. Students should decide which one is important to them before applying or running.**
